Mogu li iskustva bliske smrti pružiti dokaze za Isusa Krista, Presveto Trojstvo i stvarnost Boga? U ovom snažnom izlaganju katolički apologet razmatra potvrđeno iskustvo bliske smrti jedne židovske djevojke koja je odgojena u uvjerenju da je kršćanstvo prijevara, ali je nakon što je tijekom teške nesreće napustila svoje tijelo susrela Isusa Krista.

Žena opisuje susret s Isusom kao sa stvarnim čovjekom koji ju je poznavao tijekom cijeloga njezina života. Prisjeća se kako joj je Isus pokazao pregled njezina života i otkrio da je bio prisutan od trenutka kada je bila oblikovana u majčinoj utrobi. Apologet uspoređuje njezino svjedočanstvo s prvim poglavljem Knjige proroka Jeremije, gdje božanska Riječ Gospodnja govori Jeremiji da ga je poznavala i oblikovala prije njegova rođenja.
Zatim opisuje kako ju je Isus odveo u beskrajnu, živu svjetlost ispunjenu savršenom ljubavlju. Doživjela je Boga kao svjetlost, Boga kao ljubav i Boga kao čovjeka, ali je priznala da nije mogla objasniti kako se te stvarnosti međusobno povezuju. Sam Shamoun tvrdi da njezino iskustvo odražava biblijsku objavu Presvetoga Trojstva: Oca objavljenoga kao božanska svjetlost i ljubav, Sina objavljenoga kao Boga u ljudskom obličju te Duha Svetoga kao živu Božju prisutnost.
Teolog objašnjava da apostoli i novozavjetni pisci nisu započeli s filozofskim modelima Trojstva. Oni su Oca, Sina i Duha Svetoga iskusili kao živu, nadnaravnu stvarnost. Čuli su Očev glas, dotaknuli Isusa Krista, utjelovljenoga Sina Božjega, te svjedočili vidljivoj pojavi Duha Svetoga i njegovu osnaživanju vjernika.
Zatim se razmatraju biblijski dokazi iz prvoga poglavlja Jeremije, Psalma 104, devetoga poglavlja Djela apostolskih, prve i četvrte glave Prve Ivanove poslanice, sedamnaestoga poglavlja Djela apostolskih, druge glave Prve poslanice Timoteju te druge glave Poslanice Titu. Pokazuje se da je Isus Krist božanska Riječ koja stvara život, čovjek koji posreduje između Boga i čovječanstva te naš veliki Bog i Spasitelj koji će se vratiti suditi živima i mrtvima.

Teolog akođer objašnjava važno načelo za procjenjivanje iskustava bliske smrti: osobna iskustva ne potvrđuju Bibliju. Biblija se mora upotrebljavati kako bi se ispitalo i utvrdilo dolazi li neko iskustvo od pravoga Boga. Neka duhovna iskustva mogu biti obmanjujuća, ali ovo svjedočanstvo sadrži pojedinosti koje se vrlo blisko podudaraju s biblijskom objavom.
U konačnici, Presveto Trojstvo nije samo apstraktni nauk o kojemu treba raspravljati. Otac, Sin i Duh Sveti živi su Bog kojega su apostoli susreli, štovali i naviještali. Kršćanska teologija pokušava objasniti tu božansku stvarnost, ali biblijski temelj ostaje jasan: postoji jedan Bog, a Otac, Sin i Duh Sveti tri su različite božanske osobe koje se vječno ljube i djeluju u savršenom zajedništvu.

Za njih je ovo veliki korak prema dokazivanju kako je život nastao sam od sebe, a kako vidimo ispravniji bi bio zaključak da otkrivamo u biti koliko je život u najosnovnijem obliku punooooo kompliciraniji (čitaj nedostižan) nego što bi oni htjeli

On August 21 (Jay's 72nd birthday), Dr Raymond Ibrahim and Dr Jay Smith debated for 3 hours on the topic "Did the Muhammad of Islam Exist?"

Dr Ibrahim supported the view that Muhammad (of history) did exist (which ironically Jay agrees with), while Dr Smith argued for the belief that the 'Muhammad of Islam' (the Muhammad of faith') did not exist.

Barely the size of a credit card, this tiny fragment of John's Gospel has often been presented as the earliest surviving New Testament manuscript, seemingly bringing us remarkably close to the origins of Christianity. It has appeared in countless books, documentaries and debates, becoming one of the most famous pieces of evidence in New Testament scholarship.

But how much of its reputation is actually justified?

In this video, we trace the extraordinary journey of P52—from its discovery in the rubbish heaps of ancient Oxyrhynchus, to its identification by Colin Henderson Roberts at the John Rylands Library in Manchester, and the scholarly debates that continue to shape our understanding of its date and significance.
